Rigor redifined

i have read an article called "Rigor Redefined" by Tony Wagner. What is the topic being discussed? The topic is the schooling students need. What is the main idea? main idea is that are we teaching them the right stuff? But are we teaching them to ask good questions/or think for themselves. I thought was is rigor? I researched on dictionary.com and rigor is strictness or dealing with things to the maximum.

New Learning

I have read a blog called A Whole New Learning Experience: Take Two by Karl Fisch. This blog is about freshmen last year at Arapahoe who read a book and discuessed it.The skype way by skyping from class and talking to eachother face to face on skype.Mr. Fisch is talking about how this years freshmen could skype in clas and discuss a wikified Reasearch Paper, and will have an opportunity to interact with Daniel Pink on skype.Mr Fisch said "If you’re really a glutton and want to know more about this, we have a video produced by Dana Levesque." My question about this is what does glutton mean. I thought this blog was interesting because we are know skyping in class and at home.A couple of years ago we were writting down our work on paper. It is amazing how technology is changing. I also thought that it was amazing that students at Arapahoe can skype in class and other people can skype into the conversation. Why would other people want to skype into class with students.Students are just talking about work they've done in class.I think that skyping in class will help everybody in class to parrticipate. The Skyping in class will help students participate.

Most dangerous game

The Story i have read in English called "The Most Dangerous Game" written by Richard Connell. This short story is about a man who was lost in sea and ends up finding himself on a a island. Were on this island he meats a man who later tells Rainsord(main character) if he can run from him on a man hunt and survuve he can leave the island. The man who is hunting rainsford name is General zaroff and this man is a hunter but wants to take it to the next level by hunting a man.During the man hunt Rainsford is hiding from the hunters and decides to make a boobytrap.Wich was succsesfull although he killd some hunter he still has general Zaroff to hide from. rainsford ends up being succesfull in the man hunt and survives were he meets general and who ever winds the sword fight gets to sleep in the bed.rainsford was a winner in this match and he ends up sleeping in the bed.

Sick students and learning

I have read a blog called Learning and H1N1: students skyping into class by Anne Smith. The blog is about how kids are sick and staying home, but they skype into class. I think they do this because they would rather learn at home sick than making up work. Everybody hates makeup work; it takes up more time and teachers probably hate it also.Teachers dislike teaching the same content over and over to kids who miss class. It is crazy that kids who are sick at home can connect with the rest if the class, and the students would not miss a thing, compared to if they were at home in bed. Skype just might change learning if students can connect from home and learn.
Most students in the blog were willing to skype into class from their house. They were probably thinking, "Iwon't let this virus affect me academically, beacuse I don't want to make up work and waste time."I wouldn't blame them. A dumb virus is keeping kids at home missing school for a day or more. They probably don't want to do the make up work. That is an amazing new technolagy that we have and don't want to get behind in class. We all know that make up work is a pain in the butt, and can lead up to getting behind.Make up work stresses out students and makes teachers mad.The teachers are getting mad because the student is getting behund in class and the teacher is forced to give that student a bad grade. The student is getting a bad grade in the class because he got behind because of a dumb virus that kept him home.Skype is helping prevent these viruses.

military musuem has hard economic times

A article i read called "Planned Colorado Springs military museum needs donations" by Tom Roeder. This aticle was interesting because the musuem is having a hard time economicly and is asking for donations from the public citivilians of colorado. The article has to due with education by how they would have had people from the museum planing ahead of time such as saving money and hypothising the future achevments. The musuem would probably not be in the situation in the first place.I think it is eye opening to me on how the museum is asking for public donations and they are probably having a hard time with money and arley supporting themselves (the muesum). So because of there econimc troubles they ask the public to donate and some of the public might also have econimic trouble themselvs.

Knowing Is Learning

In the article i have read called "It's Who you Know" by Karl Fisch. The article is really interesting because Mr. Fisch is talking about if you know good reources you become a greater person/student with knowledge.Mr Fisch was talking about the phrase it's not what you know it's who you know. That phrase sounds harsh but it is kind of true now that a start to think about it beacause if you know good recources you know more acedmicly. That is probably important in school and life.
